Blogtober | #FirstLineFriday: October 4th, 2019

It's that part of the week where I get to share what I am planning on reading by playing a little game. This idea was created by the wonderful Wandering Words. Here's the general gist:
  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page.
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first.
  • Finally… reveal the book!

Format | Paperback
Page Count | 336
RRP | £8.99

I am unbelievably in love with this novel. The words, the themes, the atmosphere, all meshing together to create a book that isn't quite Science Fiction, not quite Fantasy and not quite Horror. It's beautiful and monstrous and has latched onto my heart.
I might have to pick this one up for a reread sooner than I was planning to.

  1. Ooh it reminds me of Book Beginnings!
I love how much you can get just from the first lines of a book. I hope you enjoy Other Words for Smoke, I loved it.
